Ceci Lewis

D UNDERBELLY member Ceci Lewis is an indigo dyer, photographer and textile artist. Her roots in Chicago, Nashville, California, Sierra Nevada and central Minnesota inform her multi-layered aesthetic; The memories and experiences of these variant natural and urban settings fuel Cecile’s need to create.

The following photos are from an installation, Studies N Black at Patrick's Cabaret, in collaboration with Leann E Johnson. Leann's idea was to include a textile backdrop for her tiles and she brought Ceci into this project, who created the hanging system.  The textiles were Ceci's creations using Leann's farm images.
