The iconic image and legacy of Oprah Winfrey serves as the inspiration for the latest performative experiment of Baraka de Soleil/ D UNDERBELLY- the dreamlike sci-fi allegory Childr’n of “O.”

"The electronic age transmits its powerful presence through the  voice & image of an iconic Black woman figure.  This figure, “O”  has potential to absorb all cultural, social and economic issues that live inside the ‘techno-fabric’ of our society and bear children that will carry forward the legacy of this new millennium's digital consciousness; but what happens when she recalls organic memories - natural moments of human contact, existence & interaction?"

Unfolding through an intricate web of poetic text, deconstructed ‘tv’ & internet cultural symbolism, gestural language & multimedia projections, Childr’n of “O” examines the complexities of one of the most potent legacies of our evolving contemporary society.
