UNDERBELLY is extremely proud to work once again with e.g.
bailey, Shá
Cage, and Trú Rúts
Endeavors, one of the premier
multidisciplinary arts organizations in the Twin Cities. Trú Rúts was founded in 1997 by
e.g.
bailey to develop innovative, cutting edge artistic projects,
including dance, spoken word, visual art, film, and radio. Work include:
- Speakeasy Records, the first spoken-word label in Minnesota

- Developing the first exhibit of African
visual artists in
Minnesota with Intermedia
Arts
- Facilitating a developmental play workshop of a play
about the Troubles in Ireland
- 2 spoken word/hip hop theatre
productions
- 3 spoken word/hip hop albums
- Presenting the National Poetry Month spoken-word radio series
"Words Will Heal
the
Wound" with KFAI
- Producing a half-hour narrative film
which was adapted from a short story by award-winning novelist Percival
Everett
- Producing performances, radio spots and
television PSAs with the African American Men's Project

| Shá Cage is an actress, playwright and
producer who helped
found MaMa
mOsAiC, a women-of-color theatre company,
works with the Minnesota Spoken Word
Association, and recently received a
grant from the Playwright Center
to develop a one-woman show about
Natchez, Mississippi, her hometown.

bailey is an award-winning spoken word artist and historian, as well as
poet, playwright, photographer, and filmmaker. In addition to
co-founding Trú Rúts, e.g. bailey has co-founded:
- @rkology, a spoken word and music collective, which was chosen in
the City Pages' "Picked to Click" Best New Band Poll in 1998 and
1999
